Numerous myths, created by the past Soviet and the today Kremlin's propaganda, are still polluting the perception of French “Russophilia" in former USSR countries and in the mind of people who grew up in this environment. “Russophilia”, is perceived by anti-Putin activists as compromising with what they consider Putin’s megalomania. Meanwhile, the pro-Putin side accuses the other side of “Russophobia". This prevents the addressing of real issues. This leads to dead ends and creates misunderstandings between France and the Eastern European countries at a time when they all need to work together in a more dangerous world.
